Activate by Hardrock is an indoor climbing and activity centre, located in Heatherton. Our activities include a selection of over 30 fun and engaging climbs, the Leap of Faith and Vertical drop Slide and 85+ meters of ultra-realistic caving tunnels.

About the Role
As a member of our Cafe Team, your responsibilities will include serving customers in the cafe, preparing food and beverages, maintaining a safe food environment, hosting birthday parties and cleaning / turning over the facilities between groups of customers. You will assist to coordinate reception centre operations from your rostered area and will support other areas of the business when required.
Our Cafe Team are flexible and hard working individuals who go above and beyond to deliver excellent customer service; prepare delicious food & beverage; and ensure that our Children’s Birthday Parties are “The Best Party Ever”.
Duties/Responsibilities
As a Cafe Team Member, you will be required to:
– Provide exceptional customer service at all times
– Demonstrate excellent food safety standards at all times
– Take and prepare customer food and drink orders
– Perform administration duties including: taking/confirming bookings, customer registration, point of sale and stock control
– General housekeeping and cleaning including turning over party rooms between customers
– Assist other departments during peak periods
Who we are looking for
The right candidate for our Cafe Staff, Baristas, Kitchen Staff and Party Host roles will have:

– A safety-first mindset with a sound awareness of safety standards
– A vibrant, engaging and energetic attitude with an ability to have fun
– A passion for working with both children and adults
– Good administration and organisation skills, with an ability to present themselves professionally
The right candidate must also:
– Be aged 16+ and be available for an immediate start
– Be available to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, weekends, daytime, evenings, school holidays and peak periods
– Have the right to work in Australia permanently, with no restrictions
– Hold or be prepared to obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Level 2 First Aid including annual CPR refreshers
– Previous Barista, Kitchen Hand and Party Hosting experience is highly desirable
