About the role

We are seeking a Café/Party Rooms Manager, to join our Activate by Hardrock Indoor Climbing and Activity Centre Cafe, located in Heatherton. Activate offers over 30 climbing challenges, a Leap of Faith and Vertical Drop Slide and 85+ meters of ultra-realistic caving tunnels. Reporting to the Venue Manager, the Café/Party Room Manager is responsible for driving and leading the day-to-day Café operations, with a strong focus on providing kids party catering. This part-time role, will consist of approximately 18 hours per week. The successful candidate must be available to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, on a weekly basis. Flexibility can be provided around start and finish times on these days, for the right candidate.

• Managing all Café operations • Food and beverage preparation to support Café and party requirements • Providing exceptional customer service • Ensuring the Café/Party rooms maintain the highest level of food safety and hygiene standards; including the strict adherence to specific dietary requirements • Proactively manage and control stock, ensuring the Café is equipped to meet Centre requirements • Liaising with and developing strong relationships with suppliers, including completion of purchase ordering procedures • Leading the Café/Party Room Team, to ensure delivery of a high-quality Café/Party experience • Developing innovative promotions and ideas to drive sales, business growth and meet the needs of our customers • Performing venue open and close procedures • Representing the Café at Management meetings and providing regular performance reporting • Adherence to and development of policies and procedures specific to the Café area, including a sustainability policy • General Café administration and reporting as required • Café housekeeping and cleaning • Supporting other areas within the business during quiet periods
About you

To be successful in this role you must be highly motivated, hardworking, with a passion for good food and coffee. You will have previous café experience and a proven track record in a similar role. You are extremely organised, have excellent time management skills and work well under pressure. You are also customer-focused, friendly, have outstanding communication skills and enjoy working in a small team environment. As a key member of our team, you will display a high degree of initiative, ability to problem solve, impeccable attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work autonomously; ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard. We are also seeking someone with a safety and hygiene first mindset and engaging and positive personality.
What you require

• Have experience working in a leadership role within a Café or birthday party venue • Have a minimum of 1-year experience working as a Barista • Strong leadership experience and an ability to train, develop, engage and motivate team members • Be available to work approx. 18 hours per week (including Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday) • Be flexible and available to work additional shifts as required and during peak holiday periods • Have the right to work in Australia permanently, with no restrictions • Hold or be prepared to obtain and maintain: o A Food Safety Supervisor certification o Working with Children Check (WWCC) o Level 2 First Aid certification
